North West London League Trent Park 2024

Today, I ran in a race called the North West London League at Trent Park. I knew it would be a tough race because it was raining heavily, and the ground was very muddy. The rain made everything slippery and tricky to run on, but I told myself to stay focused and try my best. Even though I enjoy running, I could tell this race would be a real challenge.

At the start, I didn’t have the best start, but it wasn’t too bad either. I kept my pace steady and worked hard to stay near the front. In the end, I finished in 10th place for the Under 11 Girls category, which I was proud of. The race was supposed to be 2 kilometres, but it ended up being 2.23 kilometres, which made it feel even harder. The extra distance was tough, but I kept going, pushing myself as much as I could.

Northala Fields Parkrun 9th November

Today I took part in a 5K Parkrun at Northala Fields in Northolt. I was really looking forward to it because I hadn’t run there for a while, and I was determined to beat my personal best. I felt a bit nervous at the start but also excited. When the race began, I focused on getting a strong start so that I wouldn’t get caught up in the crowd of other runners. I knew I had to find a good pace early on to give myself the best chance of a new record.

As I ran, I pushed myself to go as fast as I could. I kept my mind focused on each step, not letting myself slow down. I wanted that personal best so badly! By the time I crossed the finish line, I had clocked a time of 22:12. This was a new personal best for me, beating my previous time of 22:14 by just two seconds. Even though it was a small improvement, I felt so proud. Every second counts, and I was over the moon with my result.

Under 11 District League At Wheatfields November 2024

Today, I took part in a cross-country race for my school team in the Under 11 District League at Wheatfields Junior School. I was thrilled to be selected to represent my school and was determined to give my best effort to try and win. At the start of the race, I sprinted forward to take the lead, but some of the other girls were quicker off the mark. Although the race was supposed to be 1.3 kilometres, it actually measured only 0.91 kilometres. My pace was 4:00 per kilometre, and I finished with a time of 3:35.

In the end, I came fourth out of around 60 girls, which I felt was a strong result. I was especially pleased to be the first finisher from my school, as I wanted to make them proud. However, I know there are areas where I could improve to perform even better in the future. Reflecting on the race, I realised that I need to work on my sprinting skills to get a stronger start, which could help me stay ahead right from the beginning.

Mini Mo Run 3rd November 2024

Today, I took part in a Mini Mo Run event in Richmond. The race was supposed to be 1.5 kilometres, but it ended up being just a little shorter at 1.4 kilometres. My pace was 4 minutes and 9 seconds per kilometre, which I was pleased with. I finished with a time of 5 minutes and 50 seconds, which made me proud, especially because I had already run a 2-kilometre Parkrun just two hours before. I was feeling a bit low on energy after that, so I had to push myself a bit harder in this race.

One of the best parts of the day was that I came first among all the girls, so I got a special, large medal. The medal was shaped like a moustache with little figures of people around it, and it had “champion” written on it because I finished in first place. It felt great to earn that medal, especially because I had worked hard to finish strong despite feeling tired.
