Today, I ran at the Pitshanger Parkrun. It was a cold and cloudy morning, and I felt excited but also a little bit nervous before the start. I really wanted to do my best and see if I could run faster than before. The park looked quiet and calm, and I was ready to give it everything.
As soon as the race started, I sprinted ahead to get a strong start. I knew that getting into a good position early would help me keep my pace. The path was a bit narrow at the beginning, so I had to move quickly to find some space and avoid getting stuck in the crowd. Once I found my rhythm, I focused on keeping my speed steady.
I think one reason I ran well today is because I didn’t have a banana before the run. Normally, if I do have one, I sometimes feel sick and might even throw up! So, this time I felt lighter and more comfortable while running. It definitely helped me keep a strong pace all the way through.
As the race went on, I kept pushing myself to stay fast and not slow down. I focused on my breathing and tried to keep a good rhythm. My legs started to feel tired near the end, but I didn’t give up. I told myself to stay strong and finish as quickly as I could.
In the end, I finished with a pace of 3 minutes 57 seconds per kilometre and a total time of 7 minutes and 39 seconds. I felt really proud of myself for running so well. It was a great race, and I’m happy with my result. Next time, I’m going to try and go even faster!
