Today I ran in a race at Cassiobury Park with Watford Harriers, and it was such a great experience! The race was quite long – I had to run a distance of 2 kilometres and 500 metres. That’s 2.5 km in total, and I knew it would be tough, but I was really excited to give it my best shot.
I ran really fast and was so proud to come first for the under 10 girls. That was such an amazing feeling! Out of all the boys and girls in the race, I came 14th overall, which made me even happier. There were lots of fast runners, so finishing that high up made me feel really proud of myself.
During the race, I kept a strong pace. My average pace was 3 minutes and 56 seconds per kilometre, which is super quick. I’ve run this same race before, and last time I finished with a time of 11 minutes and 46 seconds. This year, I finished it in just 9 minutes and 24 seconds. That’s a huge improvement – almost two and a half minutes quicker! I couldn’t believe it when I saw my new time. All my training and hard work have really
Today’s race made me feel really proud. I can’t wait to race again and try to beat my time once more. It’s fun to see how much I can improve each time I run!
