Today, I took part in the Middlesex Young Athletes League, where I competed in a cross-country race. I was excited to take part and wanted to see how well I could perform against the other runners. Cross-country races can be challenging because the ground is not always smooth, and you have to stay focused throughout the race.
The course had gravel on it, which made the race different from running on a normal road or track. I had to concentrate on where I was running while trying to keep up a good pace. The gravel made the surface uneven in places, so I had to be careful with my footing and keep pushing myself forward.
When the race started, I tried to get into a good rhythm and stay focused on the runners around me. I knew that I would have to work hard if I wanted to finish near the front. I gave the race my best effort and kept going, even when it became challenging.
In the end, I finished in 2nd place, which made me feel really proud of myself. Coming second in a cross-country race was a brilliant achievement, especially on a course with gravel. It showed me that my training is helping me improve and that I can compete well against other talented young runners.
Overall, I really enjoyed competing in the Middlesex Young Athletes League. The cross-country course was a fun challenge, and I liked racing on a different surface. Finishing second was a fantastic result, and it has motivated me to keep training hard, improving my running and aiming for even better results in future races.
