The mini marathon

The mini marathon

Today, I took part in the Mini Marathon. It was a really exciting experience, and I was looking forward to seeing how well I could do. There were lots of other runners taking part, so the event was very busy. I knew it would be challenging because there were so many people racing against each other.

When the race started, there were runners all around me, which made it quite difficult to find space and get into a good rhythm. I tried to stay focused and run at a strong pace. Even though it was busy, I kept pushing myself and doing my best throughout the race.

In the end, I finished in 15th place, which I was pleased with. Most of the runners who finished ahead of me were in Year 6, so I felt proud of how I had performed against older children. It showed me that I could compete with runners who were a year older than me, and it motivated me to keep improving.

One of the things I enjoyed most was running on the road. It was a nice road-running course, and I enjoyed the experience of racing in a different setting. The atmosphere was exciting, with so many people taking part and everyone trying to do their best.

Overall, I really enjoyed the Mini Marathon. Although it was very busy and there were lots of runners around me, I was happy to finish 15th. Knowing that most of the runners in front of me were in Year 6 made me feel even more motivated. I hope to take part again in the future, improve my position and see how much faster I can become.
